Work in progress. Sweeper is a working title for a game that is still in development. Everything on this page, including the images, story and design, is early and likely to change.

Sweeper is a first-person indie game I'm developing with Blender and Godot Engine. It's set in the aftermath of a military occupation, in a speculative world that closely resembles our own.
You traverse the terrain between an isolated village and the nearby city, cut off from each other by a lattice of ruined walls, fences, abandoned settlements, mined farmland, and the decaying infrastructure of apartheid. Scattered across the landscape lie the quiet, broken remains of something vast: fragments of a fallen Leviathan, the broken machinery of the automated state. The terrain is dense and obstructive, with abandoned checkpoints, makeshift barriers, and the scattered remains of remote and autonomous weapons. Aid groups operate on the periphery, but move slowly and unevenly.
You move through this terrain restoring safe passage: disarming mines, cutting through fences, and rebuilding human networks of movement and aid. The work is patient and steady. Instead of dramatizing conflict, the game focuses on traversal, repair, and witness. The violence has already happened, and you are responsible for what comes next.
